Neelam Mahara was born and raised in Darchula, Far Western rural Nepal. She completed her Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Janamaitri Foundation Institute of Health Science (JFIHS) in Kathmandu, Nepal. In August 2017, she joined Possible at Bayalpata Hospital in the role of Nursing In charge. Neelam has a deep passion to improve the health of the rural population and believes that health must be accessible and affordable by all. She enjoys traveling to new places, singing, dancing, shopping, watching comedy movies and being involved in public debates. As a Nursing In Charge, her role is to lead the nursing team, ward management, staff management, supervise nurses continuously and improve their teaching and clinical skills. She is directly involved in nursing care to the patients and always working to give them quality and specialized care in a rural setting. Neelam is one of the few female leaders who are based on Bayalpata Hospital and is a member of Hospital Internal Management Committee (HIMC).
