Camilo joins the Heal Initiative as a Summer Program Coordinator Intern. He is excited to be a part
of a community whose principles uphold justice and equity. As a current psychology major, he is
strongly interested in being in spaces where he can apply his personal and professional
knowledge to transforming systems built on bias.
Last summer Camilo interned at the Immigrant Legal Resource Center as a Human Resources intern, an organization providing resources and advocating for immigrant rights. As an HR
Intern, he focused on supporting recruitment operations and ensuring the completion of training
met legal compliance. This opportunity was specifically rewarding, considering he grew up in an
immigrant household. He also participated in weekly workshops, expanding his knowledge of
immigration policies.
Camilo is currently pursuing a psychology degree and a minor in information systems at San
Francisco State University. During his time at SFSU, he has been a part of on-campus roles,
building up his skillset in areas like communication and teamwork. Through his experience, he
has found a passion for Human Resources, viewing how this career supports the well-being of
the workplace.
