Donna Dineyazhe

Donna Mae Dineyazhe is originally from Shiprock, New Mexico, a small community located on the Navajo Reservation. She is a member of the Navajo Tribe and works in the community where she was born and raised. She is currently practicing as a Certified Nurse-Midwife at Northern Navajo Medical Center (NNMC) in Shiprock and has been with Indian Health Service (IHS) for almost 18 years.

Her passion involves working with women and giving them the tools to build healthy families for generations to come. Her work honors traditional and cultural teachings and providing a safe space for patients to incorporate both traditional and western medicine. She obtained her Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of New Mexico-CNM program in 2017. Prior to midwifery, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and worked as a Medical Technologist at NNMC.

Ms. Dineyazhe is looking forward in collaborating with other health care professionals who have the same desire to assist underserved populations. She’s the daughter of Phillip and Fannie Begay, a wife, a mother of two teenage boys, and also a foster mom. She’s also a cancer survivor! Her hobbies include attending her children’s activities, photography, camping, and loving on her fur babies at home.
